Jilly’s Car Wash plans to open a new location in Mequon despite concerns from residents

A new carwash is coming to Mequon after town officers approved the proposal even with problems from inhabitants around the possible for noise air pollution and lowering house values.

Jilly’s Car Wash designs to open its fifth locale at 10829 N. Port Washington Highway and plans to debut in March 2023.

Proprietor Jon Zimmerman said he’s been given several requests to open up a Mequon spot following opening the Glendale site. He explained he never expected that some neighborhood associates would disapprove of the proposal for the new locale.

“I was pretty stunned. The noise from Port Road is likely to be considerably greater than nearly anything we deliver,” reported Zimmerman.

Neighbors highlighted their problems at the May well 23 Planning Fee meeting. Worries included noise pollution, lowering assets values for close by condos and pedestrian security.

Gary Balcerzak, who lives in the Winding Hollow Condominiums, opposed the project.

“We have certainly no animosity toward Jilly’s. In reality, my family has a month to month membership at the Glendale area. We have absolutely nothing from an additional carwash in Mequon,” claimed Balcerzak at the meeting. “What we adamantly oppose is a carwash in this residential spot.”

The carwash will be open up from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, in accordance to the proposal.
