The Most Popular Cars in The Import Scene Including Honda’s and Acura’s

Atlanta is home to CNN, major soft drink companies and a large number of other huge corporations. Most people generally associate Southern California with a thriving import car scene and rightfully so. However, Atlanta is also a huge hub for import fans to congregate. Atlanta is host to numerous high profile import car events such as the Atlanta Dragway Import Showoff, the Import Alliance show and the infamous Hot Import Nights. Quite a number of cars are popular on the scene, however the standouts are Acura’s Integra and the Honda Civic.

One of the most popular cars on Atlanta’s import scene by far is the Civic. This vehicle looks superb lowered, tricked out with rims plus there are lots of aftermarket and JDM parts available. With a few minor changes the Civic is easily tricked out to a badass lean mean racing machine. Lowering a car improves its ability to corner and provides for a more engaging drive.

In general all Civics are suitable for lowering and tuning into a mean race car but the 2012 model brings someone completely new to the table. It’s been redesigned and as a result sports a revamped bumper and detailed tail lights. The 2012 Civic would make a stunning import car due to its new and striking appearance. The engine will be a 2.0 Liter with a total of 197 hp and a six-speed transmission will be replaced. The base price is expected to cost almost $16k.

The Acura Integra is another winner; it was especially popular during the nineties and the fact that it’s been discontinued just makes it rarer and more coveted. It’s been popular for such a long time due to its ability to be transformed to a powerful racing machine. The most popular engines for the Integra include Type R and GSR. Many Integra’s have won first place at drag races across the world. The third generation Type-R engine outputs 195 hp and 8000 rpm. The valve train contains 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts with Variable Valve Timing and a VTEC system. Many import fans consider the Acura Integra one of the best front wheel drive vehicles ever produced. To the chagrin of fans, Acura replaced the Integra with the RSX in 2002.

Pay attention next time you’re on the road in Atlanta. You might be passing some of the state’s finest import vehicles!
